Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (TCL4)
Course overview
The Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (TCL4) is accredited by the CPCAB and approved by BACP. The course consists of 420 hours of teaching time in addition to self-study and the completion of reflective learning logs. This course provides you with a nationally recognised qualification so that you can start working in counselling agencies. With experience and support from your supervisor: you may decide to open a private practice.
The course requires you to start volunteering as a Counsellor within a placement, usually within the voluntary and charitable sector. Candidates need to have successfully completed a Level 2 counselling skills course that involved at least 90 hours of learning, and a Level 3 Counselling Studies qualification of at least 90 hours. Candidates will need to fill out an application form, providing 2 references and be interviewed. It is mandatory that learners have at least Level 2 English Language and IT skills to produce the portfolio and we will talk this through with you.
